In the 1970's when Nancy & Tom McGrath opened Tipperary at Tara, it was their intention to ensure that our customers would receive full value for every dollar they spent. Thirty two years on, that is still the standard we apply.

A thousand years ago the rulers of Ireland had a similar idea, at the annual festival at Tara in Co. Meath, seat of the Irish High Kings, the best work of Ireland's finest artisans was awarded the privilege to carry the mark of the "great hall". The term "hallmark" comes from this practice. As our business has grown, our reputation for service and quality has spread beyond anything that we could have imagined. We are very proud of that, we do not take it for granted, and work at it everyday. At Tipperary at Tara, customers are friends and are treated so. We have come to know several generations of customers. A very large number of our customers are customers because they came to Tipperary with their parents as children and now bring their own children. We like that (as long as the kids behave that is).

We are blessed with customers who drive an average of 50 miles each way. The registry shows entries from Buffalo, NY to Boston, MA, from Poughkeepsie to Plattsburgh and many states and foreign countries.
